A.I. Mirror Turns Your Reflection Into A Picasso Painting

Stand in front of the “Cubist Mirror,” and you’ll see your face looking back at you. But it’s a version of your face as Picasso might paint it. The mirror works in real time, generating a refreshed “reflection” faster than once per second. The refresh rate creates a slightly choppy effect, but this machine learning project will get faster and smoother. Artist and programmer Gene Kogan developed the Cubist Mirror for “alt-AI,” a conference about art and artificial intelligence that took place this past May at the School for Poetic Computation in New York. The equipment consists of an LCD monitor hooked up to a webcam.
