AI system replicates Nobel Prize-winning physics experiment under minimal human supervision
Australian physicists have created an artificial intelligence system that will run a complex physics experiment and even makes an attempt to improve it. The AI system will replicate the experiment known as Bose-Einstein condensate, which has won the Nobel Prize in 2001. The experiment deals with trapping an extremely cold gas in laser beam. Study’s co-lead researcher Paul Wigley from the Australian National University shared that he did not expect that the AI would learn to conduct the experiment itself from scratch and that too within an hour.
