Alphabet, Amazon Lead A.I. Charge as Machines Take Over, Says UBS

By Tiernan Ray UBS analysts Hubert Jeaneau and colleagues today offered a 56-page think piece of what to expect as artificial intelligence and robotics become more prevalent in society, predicting that Alphabet (GOOGL) and Amazon (AMZN) will be the biggest early beneficiaries of use of the technology. The authors describe the report as the result of consultations with industry analysts and also with academics from various disciplines at Massachusetts Institute for Technology, among which they list the following in acknowledgements: Bob Berwick, Professor of Computational linguistics at MIT, John Leonard, Samuel C. Collins Professor of Mechanical and Ocean Engineering at MIT, David Autor, Associate Department Head of MIT department of economics, and Regina Barzilay, Professor at MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab.
