Alphabet Inc (GOOGL) Creates First Chip Specifically for Machine Learning

Alphabet Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google I/O developers conference ended last week, and people cannot stop talking about the new products and services revealed by the tech giant at the event. One major announcement was the new the Machine Learning chip that is currently being developed by the company. The new chip, Google Tensor Processing Unit or TPU, is currently being developed to work with Google Tensor Flow technology. The company has been using the chip for over a year and claims that the Alpha Go supercomputer, which defeated the World Champion Go player, was powered by a TPU.
