Apple acquires machine learning start up, TupleJump

After taking possession of Perceptio and Turi, Apple is now set to acquire a U.S./India-based machine learning start-up, TupleJump. “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,” Apple told TechCrunch. About TupleJump: TupleJump is an India-U.S. based machine learning company that started off with a mission to simply data management technologies back in 2013. They aim to build the kind of technology that is simple to use, scalable and will allow people to ‘ask difficult questions on huge datasets.’ One of the most important projects undertaken by TupleJump went by the name of ‘FiloDB.’ It was an open-source program that applied machine learning concepts and analytics to massive amounts of complex data right as it is streamed in.
