Apple buys machine-learning tech start-up TupleJump

KV KurmanathApple Inc., which is building a huge campus in Hyderabad, has acquired TupleJump, a machine- learning technology company based in Hyderabad. A source in the US-based company has confirmed the development, which took place a few months ago. The target company has taken down its website following the acquisition. Both Apple and the founders of TupleJump are tight-lipped about the acquisition. Responding to a BusinessLine query on the size of the deal and how many employees it might get through the buy-out, Apple said: “We buy smaller technology companies from time to time. We generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,” it said.
