Article Intelligence: Friend or Foe?

The concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been around for more than 50 years.  For decades, computer scientists have conceptualized and worked to create machines that can learn, adapt and perform tasks normally done by humans. To date, AI has fallen short of expectations of what was envisioned by the scientific community many years ago. But more effort than ever is now being put into AI, and its enormous potential is finally being realized.  Simply stated, AI is the development of machines to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence.
