Artificial intelligence at Adams?
ALAMOSA — Thanks to a helping hand from the U.S. Department of Defense, Adams State University will soon be rolling out the Cadillac of summer jobs in an effort to help retain students in math, science and technology fields. Come spring, math professors at the school will select four students for an internship aimed at developing artificial intelligence and social-emotional programming for robots. The ultimate goal of the work is to develop robots that can interact with humans. “We’re going to try to make this pretty rigorous,” said Matthew Ikle, a professor of mathematics who’ll be overseeing the program.
