Celebrating 50 years of the British Neuroscience Association
The event, themed ‘Past, Present and Future’, attracted 250 delegates and was a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the association. The packed schedule featured many high quality talks by researchers from across the UK including our own Irene Tracey, who spoke on ‘Understanding human pain through neuroimaging’. Our Department’s Angela Vincent was awarded the 2015 Outstanding Contribution to Neuroscience award. The award, launched in 2000, recognises one individual each year who has made a significant impact in their field of work in neuroscience, neurology or mental health research; and who, in addition to international calibre research, has also influenced the advancement of neuroscience by participation on high-level committees and workgroups in the UK and beyond.
