Eagles miss opportunities in opening loss

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. — The UW-La Crosse baseball team got its hits, but the hitting was by no means contagious for the Eagles on Friday night. UW-L tallied nine hits, but they were unable to string meaningful ones together, stranding 13 runners as the Eagles fell 8-0 to Trinity College (Texas) in both team’s opening game of the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship in front of a crowd of 1,632 at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
