eNeuro Joins PubMed Central Database

SfN’s new open-access journal, eNeuro, has joined the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central (PMC) database, which allows the public to freely access full-text articles from thousands of participating biomedical and life sciences journals.

Depositing eNeuro articles into PMC gives more people access to this content, expanding the reach and visibility of the published research. In addition, indexing eNeuro articles in PubMed Central helps authors comply with the public access requirements of some funding agencies, including NIH. eNeuro advances understanding of the brain and nervous system through rapid publishing of a wide array of content, including innovative discoveries and original research, negative results, failures to reproduce, tools and methods, reviews, commentaries, and more.

“SfN is excited to have eNeuro join The Journal of Neuroscience in PubMed Central as another resource for enhancing public knowledge of current research in neuroscience,” eNeuro Editor-in-Chief Christophe Bernard said.

PMC also provides a feature called PubReader, which provides a more reader-friendly presentation of articles. PubReader also enhances readability on mobile, tablet, and other small-screen devices.
