Event brings design to everyday life

SHANGHAI Design Week 2016 runs August 26-29 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center and other venues around the city. The 13,000-square-meter exhibition center will display home decorations, artificial intelligence and robotics appliances, 3D printing technology, and arts works made from obsolete film. It will also showcase products and handicrafts exposing various ethnic characteristics from home and abroad. Unlike past design weeks, works to be exhibited this year will not be presented in separate booths. Instead, they will be categorized by theme and concept, thus enabling participants to experience and interact with works rather than appreciating exhibits one after another, according to He Jiong, the deputy director of the Shanghai Design Week Committee.
