Executive's guide to AI and the future of IT jobs (free ebook)

Depending on who you listen to, automation is well on the way towards freeing the workforce from drudgery and inefficiency, opening the door to a new world of productivity and innovation — or it’s poised to eliminate countless jobs across nearly every employment sector, from manufacturing to finance…to IT.

Regardless of which view you subscribe to, there’s little doubt that automation is affecting employment patterns, spurring a reconfiguration of job roles, and prompting companies to launch retraining programs for their employees. If you haven’t felt the impact yet, you will soon.

A new Tech Pro Research survey investigated in what ways and to what extent businesses are embracing artificial intelligence and automation. Sixty percent of respondents said they are automating “some or all low-level work” — things like OS setup and deployment, system monitoring, and user account management — and 63 percent said they anticipate that automation will have a major impact on IT jobs.

ZDNet and TechRepublic have put together an ebook that explores the latest trends in automation, where it’s being put to use, and how it’s affecting human workers, organizations, and entire industries.
