Financier Sandy Weill and wife Joan aim to advance brain research with 5 million gift

The gift — one of the largest in history in this field — will go to the University of California, San Francisco for the creation of the Weill Institute for Neurosciences and will consolidate various departments within the medical center and add 45 new basic research labs addressing a wide variety of brain-related conditions.
