Ford, Uber, Google Form Coalition to Support Self-Driving Cars

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Uber, Lyft, Volvo, and Google have teamed up to form a coalition in favor of self-driving cars. The group wants to get autonomous vehicles in the market as soon as possible, and wants federal action to help make it happen. According to a Reuters report, the group wants to work with regulators, and lawmakers to educate the public on the benefits, and the safety aspect of these vehicles.Volvo Cars and Lyft are also part of the Self-Driving Coalition for Safer Streets. This coalition has appointed David Strickland, former official of the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), as its counsel and spokesperson.
