Former Muslim Student Association president named senior speaker at UMass commencement

AMHERST — The former president of the Muslim Student Association and graduating senior Elkhansaa Elguenaoui has been chosen as the student speaker at the University of Massachusetts graduation ceremony May 6. Ceremonies take place at 4:30 p.m. at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. About 5,500 students will receive bachelor’s degrees. Elguenaoui majored in neuroscience and psychology with a minor in biology. In a press release, the Medford resident said that she is most proud of serving as a resident assistant; traveling to Turkey, where she taught English; and working as a hospital intern. She participated in interfaith programs on campus as part of the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life.
