Google’s DeepMind to start playing StarCraft II as part of machine learning research

DeepMind, the artificial intelligence programme run by Google’s parent company Alphabet, is to use StarCraft as part of its research into machine learning. StarCraft is one of the longest-running and most popular online strategy games around – including as a pioneer in eSports – and has now revealed it is working with DeepMind to help further research into AI.
