How long does deep learning implementation take?

Supposing I wanted to set up a system for recognising supermarket trolleys from a real world robot what would be involved in implementing this and how long would it take, for someone familiar with deep learning? For example, how long would these stages take? Set up – install and set up deep architecture Data set – create training data set by acquiring suitable images of target from internet and video stream Train – run training of feature hierarchy Measure – develop measure of target object position in image for the purposes of localisation by robot pan and tilt camera Are there other stages required?
