With the Flow Machines project, the team has created two songs that are composed by artificial intelligence. The goal of the project, according to the lab’s sites are to aim for an “abstract ‘style’ from concrete corpora (text, music, etc.), and turn it into a malleable substance that acts as a texture.” The artificial intelligence learns how to play these songs by learning the musical styles from a large database.
