Continually researchers have been working to improve upon machine learning methods, with the ultimate goal of matching the capabilities of the human mind. Now researchers at New York University have successfully taught a computer to recognize and draw symbols similarly to the way humans do. From a young age, humans are able to learn simple visual concepts, like characters to a language, with just a few examples, but it can take thousands of examples before a computer gets it right.
