Microsoft Corporation Beats Rivals in Image Recognition Contest

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) made great strides yesterday as it topped major rivals, including Intel Corporation, Alphabet Inc., and Qualcomm Inc. in the sixth annual ImageNet image recognition contest. The competition encourages developers to design the best system for identification of objects in pictures or videos, without any human assistance. By attaining the first position, Microsoft has just strengthened its position as a pioneer of modern technology. Microsoft’s system, dubbed “Deep Residual Learning for Image Recognition,” displayed the highest level among all its rivals, and even exceeded human capabilities in a few tests. The advanced machine learning tool used by the tech giant uses deep neural networks, which enables the system to accurately identify images.
