Microsoft Xiaoice AI Can Replace Weathermen

Microsoft’s Xiaoice machine learning software became the first artificial intelligence to actually host an entire live television show in China. Dragon TV, a Chinese network, has a “Morning News” program which will now be run by its latest trainee – Microsoft’s Xiaoice. The artificial intelligence software has been employed as a chat-bot on Chinese messaging services such as Weibo, Line and WeChat, and Xiaoice’s promotion to TV host could spell trouble for the job security of weathermen and women across the globe.
