Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft Corp., said artificial intelligence will be crucial for the coming age in which speaking and texting will be “the new U.I.” for software. Speaking at the Next:Economy conference in San Francisco, Mr. Nadella sketched out his vision of a future in which automation has redefined work and productivity — and how Microsoft products would fit in. “‘Hey Cortana’ is just becoming part of my vocabulary,” he said in response to a question about whether chatting in public with virtual assistants such as Microsoft Cortana would come to be considered normal behavior.
