New Fellowship Supports Data Science for Good

July 18, 2016 The UC Berkeley School of Information is proud to announce the Jack Larson “Data for Good” Fellowship, as part of our commitment to serve the public good. The fellowship will help MIDS students pursue a career using data science to improve human life or benefit society. The I School’s Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) program is at the forefront of training the next generation of data professionals, and the school’s research and scholarship help define “data science” and promote the discipline as a whole. The I School views this as an opportunity to shape the future of data science. Starting in January 2017, six $8,500 fellowships will be awarded to MIDS students over the next two years.
