New opportunities for graduate and postdoctoral studies in systems neuroscience in Denmark jobs …

Duda Kvitsiani’s lab is looking for highly motivated individuals to embark on an ambitious project in systems neuroscience field uncovering neural circuit mechanisms that underlie decision making in animals.

Our long-term goal is to understand how abstract rules are represented in the brain and how these representations lead to goal directed behavior. To achieve this we use sophisticated behavioral training paradigms in combination with large-scale electrophysiological recordings at the cell-type specific resolution in freely behaving animals.

Initially successful candidate will work on developing a new method for spatial localization of single unit activity in 3D neural tissue volume with the cell-type specificity. The method will combine electrophysiological recordings using silicone probes  with fiber optic stimulation of genetically targetable neurons. Thus successful candidate is expected to be curiosity driven individual who has ambitions to push frontiers in interdisciplinary field of systems neuroscience. Applicants with strong background in physics, engineering and computer science are particularly encouraged to apply.

We are located in Aarhus, Denmark at a newly established Institute for Translational Neuroscience, DANDRITE. See us on the website

Start date of the project is preferred to be in 2015 fall-winter season.
