A team of researchers from Stanford University has developed a deep-learning algorithm that can identify signs of poverty in satellite images. The research team has gone through a million of images to find out economic conditions in five American nations. Majorly, satellites are known for assisting smartphones find out driving routes. But now, data from thousands of satellites orbiting earth are helping to track crop conditions, illegal deforestation and poverty in the hard-to-reach places across the globe.
