Nvidia revenues rise 13% to USD 1.3 bln in Q1

Chip maker Nvidia reported revenues of USD 1.30 billion, up 13 percent year on year, in its first quarter to 01 May, with net income surging 46 percent to USD 196 million, or 33 cents a share, compared with USD 134 million, or 24 cents a share, a year earlier. The company’s gross margin rose to 57.5 percent from 56.7 percent a year earlier. Nvidia said the results were driven by growth across all market platforms, with sales from the video game market rising 17 percent year on year to EUR 687 million and professional visualisation sales inching up 4 percent to USD 189 million.
