Nvidia Rising: FYQ2 Easily Beats, Q3 Rev View Tops Consensus

By Tiernan Ray Graphics chip titan Nvidia (NVDA) this afternoon reported fiscal Q2 revenue and earnings that easily beat analysts’ expectation, and forecast this quarter’s revenue higher as well, pointing to success with recently introduced graphic cards. Revenue in the three months ended in July rose 24%, year over year, to $1.43 billion, yielding EPS of 53 cents, excluding some costs. Analysts had been modeling $1.35 billion in revenue and 48 cents EPS. Kudos to analyst Mark Bachman with boutique firm M Science, who had predicted earlier today a “material” beat on revenue, his own estimate having been $1.42 billion.
