OLX scouts talent in machine learning and artificial intelligence

Naspers-backed OLX is relying on emerging technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence to map its next phase of growth.To focus on this, the company which is present in more than 40 countries has also started a 5-day online hackathon “Code and the Curious” to recruit coding talent across machine learning, AI, and data science from across the globe.The company which currently employs around 3000 people globally claims that so far it has received more than 10,000 applications online. Organized in partnership with Bengaluru-based HackerRank, the process consists of two parts- firstly an online assessment challenge followed by a live two-day hackathon session in Gurugram and Bengaluru next month.The consumer marketplace recently also started its technology hub in Gurugram which will develop products for other countries as well.The company which plans to offer full times roles for devops across its global technology hubs which include Buenos Aires, Berlin, Lisbon, and Gurgaon, declined to disclose the cumulative number of its hires.“The hackathon aims to scout for talent that will join these teams across countries to support the product development initiatives of the company.
