Before machines become powerful enough to truly pave the way towards virtual assistants, translation programs and other language-oriented technology ‒ and before we welcome our new robot overlords ‒ they’re going to have to actually learn English. That’s where Google comes in. The company announced Thursday that it’s releasing new software capable of understanding written English – and that the software will be available to anyone for free.
