Microsoft announced today that Project Malmo has been made an open source project- meaning it is now free for all. Project Malmo, which was only open to a little group of computer scientists, was mainly designed to help researchers develop ground-breaking artificial intelligence that’s able to do things like read, speak intelligently, make decisions and complete complicated tasks. Going from a limited intelligence to a broader intelligence is an essential stepping stone as AIs are expected to go from playing simple board games to performing more intelligent functions in society.
