Credit: Search Engine Land The prevailing view of artificial intelligence is that some day machines will help us reach better decisions than we can make on our own, improving our lives. This view presumes that we trust the organizations that use AI to provide us with products and services. But that is a faulty assumption, because most will not have our best interests in mind. Some scientists, many science fiction buffs, and a lot of the public believe perfect forms of AI — machines in likeness of humans that can actually understand the world, reason about it, and make perfect decisions — are just around the corner.
