Researchers create Program to Help Machines Learn like Humans

US Researchers have developed a new kind of machine learning in which a computer vision program performed better than humans in indentifying handwritten characters. The program’s ability is same as human’s learning abilities, as per the researchers. The journal Science has published the machine learning by the researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University and the University of Toronto. They said that the program can learn the handwritten characters quickly in many languages. They said that the new program, Bayesian Program Learning (BPL), is far different from today’s machine learning programs. Neural networks can also be programmed to identify human speech, sense objects in pictures by being exposed to various examples.
