Startup CogniCor is improving customer engagement efficiency via virtual assistants

While working on a project dealing with resolution of customer complaints via automated negotiation, Sindhu Joseph realised that such engagement systems could play a greater role in industries involving one-onone interactions. “Such systems could help us in solving real-life challenges and completely alter the market dynamics by bringing a higher degree of efficiency in business processes,” says Joseph, a Ph.D in artificial intelligence from the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA-CSIC), Spain.The promise of such AI-enabled system led Joseph to found CogniCor in partnership with her husband Rosh Cherian, a software architect. “The startup, founded in 2012, was a spin-off from my IIIA-CSIC Ph.D project around intelligent software agents that can take autonomous decisions and have advanced cognitive capabilities,” says Joseph.Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, with offices in Kerala, India, and San Francisco, US, CogniCor provides enterprises the ability to have real time natural language engagement with their customers. “Our clients are mainly in financial, insurance and IT Service industry who want to provide an alternative digital cognitive channel for customer interaction,” says Joseph.
