Scientists have invented a machine that imitates the way the human brain learns new information, a step forward for artificial intelligence, researchers reported Thursday. Machine learning has been making great strides, but the progress still relies heavily on the hard work of researchers. “We think in some form, this corresponds to what the human mind does”, said Joshua Tenenbaum, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Center for Brains, Minds and Machines, who co-authored the paper.
