Technological advancements have changed the way we view and interact with artificial intelligence (AI). While AI may not necessarily be as nefarious as the intelligent computer system Skynet from the popular Terminator film franchise, the use and potential of AI has come a long way and opened a multitude of possibilities. Earlier this year, Google’s DeepMind’s AI system AlphaGo emerged victorious in the complex game of Go by beating one of the world’s best players. On the other hand, an AI-based smartphone app can now fill in for a personal sommelier , making suggestions for the perfect bottle of wine based on tastes and preferences. The advance in AI has also caused plenty of anxiety, chiefly the threat of many low skilled jobs becoming obsolete and resulting in growing unemployment.…
