Vacation Studentship in Data Science

Applications are invited for a summer vacation studentship in the Samarajiwa lab based at the MRC Cancer Unit. The MRC Cancer Unit is both a core-funded Unit of the UK Medical Research Council, as well as an academic department of the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge. The Samarajiwa lab (Integrative Systems Biomedicine Group http://www.mrc-cu.cam.ac.uk/samarajiwa.html ) utilises computational biology approaches to understand carcinogenesis. The project will involve utilising data science and other computational approaches together with large biomedical datasets to understand complex systems involved in genome and epigenome regulation and identify processes and entities that drive cancer formation and progression.We are looking for 2nd or 3rd year Computer Science, Engineering/Physics/Mathematics or Bioinformatics/Computational Biology students with excellent programming skills (C/C++ and/or Python / R) who would like to…
