But that’s okay, because with OpenAI’s self-given mission “to make sure, in the long term, AI has potential to benefit the world” and make sure those benefits are “distributed broadly and evenly,” taking your time is crucial.  “It’s really important that we get it right,” he says.  It’s important to keep the long haul in mind, Brockman says, because you can’t rush good science.
