White House to come to UW, engage in discussions on artificial intelligence and law

This Tuesday, May 24, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy will be teaming up with the UW’s Tech Policy Lab to co-host a public workshop on the intersection of law and artificial intelligence (AI) called “Artificial Intelligence: Law and Policy.”  The UW is just one of four schools selected by the White House to hold workshops to discuss AI and the increasing integration of machine learning into our society. The workshops are an attempt to spur public debate over how AI should be regulated and interacted with in the future.  AI’s use is not limited just to seemingly futuristic inventions like drones and self-driving cars.
