Job Description
Our client is an award winning, regulated, global financial services company, providing customers with multi-asset and multi-market trading capability. They are experiencing significant growth in our retail customer base across a number of countries, and need motivated people to help us expand.
As the Data Architect, you will have the opportunity to enhance the way we use our core data to drive better decision making and improve customer experiences. You will be responsible for the data architectures across our transactional and analytical databases. You will report directly to the CTO. You are likely to be already performing a similar role and looking for broader responsibility and the chance to work in a growing fintech company.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and take ownership of all data warehouse taxonomies, dictionaries and conceptual data models
- Be responsible for the definition, acquisition, security, integration, integrity, monitoring and maintenance of structured, un-structured and semi-structured data across the enterprise – including master data warehouse management
- Working across the marketing, sales, trading and finance teams to define the core data entities and attributes, including how data supports the core business processes and customer lifecycle in particular
- Production of key architecture artefacts, including high level designs, gap analysis and roadmap development
- Creation of the new (big) data warehouse
- Selection of appropriate technologies to improve storage, manipulation and visualisation of data and information
- Provide leadership in lowering the total cost of ownership of information, through identifying efficiencies in the use of data across its lifecycle, reducing data redundancy, structuring data to ensure efficient use of analyst time and ensuring retained data/information provides value to the organisation and remains in-line with legitimate business and/or regulatory requirements
- Champion the value of data and information to the organisation
Skills and experience:
- At least 3 previous roles designing and developing data / information architectures to support a high volume, highly available, secure, digital business
- Proven track record of working in a data architecture role in similar companies
- In depth understanding of Business Intelligence, Information Strategy and MDM
- Experience of being technically hands on, and comfortable with the detail
- Knowledge of key architectural frameworks especially TOGAF
- Experience of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
- Exposure / experience of online trading, financial spread betting or online gambling industries
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Proactive stakeholder management
