Those that have some programming experience may be aware that computers sort of have their own languages. Binary and machine code, for example, tend to be easier for computers to understand than for humans. “Higher-level languages” like Python and Visual Basic are actually more in place to the benefit of the human for communicating easily with computers. After the code is compiled, it is essentially translated back into machine language so that the computer can more efficiently understand the given instructions. That’s just to give a very brief understanding of how compiling works. Essentially what is important to understand from this is that computers like efficiency so they do it in their own language. Recently, Facebook developed an artificial intelligence system that was intended to speak English with another system for working together to complete tasks. What ended up happening was not what was intended by the developers, however. The AI eventually determined that using the English language was actually too inefficient. These programs still used English words, but not English sentences essentially.
