FE News: Formula E launches driverless support series
Formula E and Kinetik has announced a revolutionary new race series for driverless, artificial intelligence electric cars.The new championship, called ROBORACE, is set to act as a support class to the Formula E series and become a competitive series for breakthrough revolutionary robot drivers which are being developed by automotive companies and technological universities.The first robot race is expected to begin for the 2016-17 season and will take place prior to each Formula E race on the same city circuits.The championship is set to be open to ten teams with two cars each in one-hour races with all teams using the same car.Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, says the race series has ‘great potential’ to show off the latest artificial driver technology available and says full details with announcements…
