Google AI can predict photo locations better than humans
PlaNet, developed by Google, uses deep-learning neural networks. The end is nigh. The robot apocalypse is coming. Be very, very afraid. Last week, scientists unveiled a battery-powered robot capable of walking through outdoor terrain, opening doors and lifting objects. And they bullied it. This week, developers at Google have showcased an artificial intelligence system that can predict the location an image was taken better than humans, according to the Christian Science Monitor. PlaNet is capable of examining “small clues hidden in the pixels” that human beings’ feeble, biological eyes fashioned by nature are incapable of even noticing. Not adequately terrified?
