IBM Agrees To Buy Part Of The Weather Company
A recent report by Bloomberg reveals confirmation from IBM to acquire digital and data assets of The Weather Company, which includes Weather Channel and Weather Underground. Bloomberg recently reported that the two companies were previously in advanced discussion about the acquisition and now they have confirmed the deal. While the terms of purchase have not been disclosed yet, unidentified sources have said that the deal is worth more than $2 billion. Out of the digital division, the traditional Weather Channel TV property is not part of the deal, and only digital assets including intellectual property, apps, website, infrastructure, WSI, and data are considered for acquisition, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
