North Main Street safety in question after deadly incident

“I just feel like I’ve been waiting — I’ve been scared — of this happening,” said Lauren French, a professor and head of neuroscience and biology at Allegheny College, of the death of a college student early Friday morning.  French, being both an area pedestrian and driver, says the North Main Street corridor that runs through campus is a perfect storm of poor visibility at night.  Hannah Morris, 20, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., was hit by an SUV on North Main Street around 10:45 p.m. Thursday and died Friday from blunt force trauma.  Morris was crossing North Main Street at night, while it was raining, a number of factors that could have decreased visibility, French said.  “I’m scared on both sides,” she said, explaining that both pedestrians and drivers are…
