A computer’s recent victory over the human brain in a complex strategy game called “Go” is being applauded by proponents of artificial intelligence, but the prospect of artificial intelligence has also triggered some ethical concerns. Many people, including some well-known scientists like Physicist Stephen Hawking, are worried that robots equipped with artificial intelligence could turn violent, posing an unprecedented risk to humans’ existence.
