It’s an area that could prove key in the future of autonomous vehicles, as while multiple cameras, radar and LiDAR sensors, combined with powerful computers can help a car to ‘see’ what’s going on around it, they don’t help the vehicle to actually understand that data, or to interpret how regular human drivers are likely to react in different situations.
